« La Galette des Rois » is a traditional French cake share for Epiphany, on the 6th of January, but you can generally find the galette in every boulangerie in France during nearly the whole month.
« La Galette des Rois » or Cake of the Kings, commemorates Twelfth Night when the Three Kings arrived in Bethlehem bearing gifts for baby Jesus.
Composed of a puff pastry cake, with a small charm, the fève, hidden inside, it is usually filled with frangipane, a cream made from sweet almonds, butter, eggs and sugar.
But different versions are created every year, with chocolate, apple or candied fruits.
You can order your traditional « Galette des Rois » at L'Assiette until the 7th of January.
